CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Nahal Sadry, our Clinical Director, has been a dentist since 2003. She started providing charity dentistry work for Shelter in 2011, helping homeless people with their Oral Health needs from specialised mobile vans across London. She quickly realised this type of dentistry was her calling.
In 2017, she started working as a dentist at HMP Wandsworth and six months later, moved away from private practice all together to focus solely and full time on prison dentistry, as it was clear to her that this was her passion. Since then, her focus has been helping prisoners access dentistry and high-quality treatments within the prison environment.
She has been the Clinical Governance Lead for 8 prisons in London, leading Clinical Governance meetings to discuss her findings and helping dentists overcome any shortcomings. She has also trained and conducted the induction process for several new dentists joining dental service provision within the prison environment.
She has been running the dental clinic in HMP Wandsworth successfully, including triaging over 70 patients a week during the Covid19 pandemic when delivery of any face-to-face appointments wasn’t possible.
OPERATIONAL DIRECTOR
He is an experienced health care manager who has been working for the past ten years in operational roles within the NHS and has been managing teams for more than 20 years and who shines when facing adversity.
He is very experienced at consolidating teams, making sure they understand the mission and vision and objectives of the practice and focusing on their performance against established KPI’s. He is very experienced also in evaluating, improving, or creating protocols and policies so there’s a clear Modus Operandi for the organisation.
He successfully runs audits and health and safety risk assessments including those dealing with fire, Covid-19, remote working and triage, disability, clinical waste, infection prevention and control, COSHH, equipment maintenance, staff training, first aid, sterilisation, stress, data, IT, security and general risk assessments to determine where changes need to be done. He is also familiar with both NHS clinical softwares, Systm1 and EMIS, as well as a variety of dental practice softwares (SOE, R4, Dentally, SfD), allowing him to interrogate the data and analyse demand, access to the service and current service provision, in order to anticipate and tackle any shortcomings, inconsistencies or bottlenecks, that would make the provision of the service more efficient, pinpointing areas that might become a challenge and solving those issues before they become a problem or an obstacle to the smooth running of the service.
As a small hands-on organisation working solely in the prison setting, we make sure that our staff are aligned with our core values and culture from the outset. We are proactive in dealing with adverse events, not merely reactive. Our dedication to delivering community standard patient care ensures that we are continually designing strategies to positively impact patient outcomes.
Our overall vision is to deliver a needs-led, evidence based, best practice aligned dental model, as our name suggests, centred on prisoners.
We provide dedicated time and presence at each prison to oversee contract governance and performance. This enables us to react immediately to changes and challenges that will inevitably occur. We do not provide a generic delivery model for our prison dental services but a bespoke tailored service.
As a small hands-onorganisation working solely in the prison setting, we make sure that our staff are aligned with our core values and culture from the outset.
